Photo: Phone Rings At Gas Plant, Triggers Explosion That Kills Rotary Club President In Osogbo


The President of Rotary club in Osogbo, Osun State and the deputy director of safety organisation, O-Ambulance, Olori Opeyemi Omobolawa Fola, was allegedly killed by a gas explosion in the state capital, Osogbo last Wednesday. According to reports, the deceased who is a trained senior nurse, had gone to a gas station, Grace Gas, in Osogbo to refill her gas cylinder, when her mobile phone suddenly rang and triggered a bang as she tried to answer the call.

The phone exploded instantly, setting the woman and her car ablaze, as it flung the gas cylinder to a far distance. The explosion allegedly killed the director and injured many people near the scene.
