A 17-year-old girl has been left seriously wounded after being stabbed by her stepmother with a glass of broken bottle for allegedly insulting her in Calabar, Cross River State.
It was learnt that the teenage girl identified as Emediong Emem Okon, was brutalised by her stepmother at Ikot-Effanga Mkpa, Calabar on Monday, 18th February, 2019, over a toilet roster disagreement.
Speaking after recovering, Emediong narrated what happened to Calabar Reporters, she said, “It all started with the toilet roster the landlord listed for the compound and my stepmother and her daughter found out about the roster and she believed that I have something to do with the roster just like that.
“The next thing she said was that I called her nonsense. I was trying to explain things to her but she was busy hitting me, then the next thing she did was to use a bottle on me; she strapped my head, neck and hand with the broken bottle.”
It was gathered that the 17-year old was immediately taken to the hospital by her father after the attack. She was later discharged and was taken back home.
